ABC Littles had a wonderful time at the library with librarian Mrs. Swain! She read Go and Get with Rex, a selection from the Texas Library Association’s 2x2 Reading List. The story focuses on letter recognition and playful vocabulary, keeping our Littles engaged and excited about reading. After the read-aloud, students took part in a Go and Get scavenger hunt, using numbers and letters to spell a mystery word from the book. What a fun way to reinforce early literacy skills! We are so proud that our LISD librarians use high-quality programming to spark a love of voluntary reading at such a young age. The Texas 2x2 list is a librarian-reviewed collection of 20 outstanding read-alouds, and we know Mrs. Swain will continue to share these great books and many more engaging activities to inspire our Littles to love reading.
