Chicks in the Classroom!

ABC kindergarteners in Mrs. Alexis Gavina's class learned so much having live baby chicks in their classroom! They all drew their favorite chick and wrote a name for it, and then Mrs. Gavina drew a name from the bunch to determine the four chick's class names! (Pikachu, YellowMellow, Roostie, and PJ Mask). The little ones observed their class chicks and wrote sentences describing what they saw. They even wrote a research paper about baby chicks using facts from books, iPads, and videos. They painted a picture of them and wrote what they would need to take care of a chick. Mrs. Gavina's kids will miss the chicks when they leave, but they are going home with two of our friends to their chicken coops at home! What a fun way to get ready for the Easter break and the spring season!
